Today, the Commission and current signatories of the Code of Practice on Disinformation launched a Joint Call inviting interested parties to manifest their interest in becoming signatories of the strengthened Code and getting involved in its preparation.

Study on the impact of recent developments in adtech and their impact on privacy, the publishers and advertisers

The aim of this study is to provide the Commission with evidence and analysis on the online advertising industry that could inform future policy options for safeguarding individual privacy and supporting the evolution of a more balanced online advertising ecosystem. This will be in the interests of individual consumers of online services and content, and of online businesses and particularly publishers (study reference: CNECT/2021/OP/0030).

Commission launches ‘CharactHer' campaign to empower all talents in the film and media industries

Today, at the Cannes Film Festival, the Commission is launching an awareness campaign aimed at fostering diversity and inclusion in the film and news media industries and at highlighting gender equality and the role of women in the sector. Mountain regions have much to gain from digitalisation and broadband connectivity. There is great potential for Smart Villages, SMEs, and access to online services in healthcare, education and much more. Mountain communities, however, face greater obstacles than most in becoming full participants in the European Union’s Digital Decade. Their remoteness, in terms of distance and topography, combined with smaller populations, make them technically and financially challenging to reach with broadband infrastructure.

Its objective is to answer their questions in order to help overcome hurdles and accelerate network deployment.
