The revised AVMSD extends certain audiovisual rules to video sharing platforms, including audiovisual content shared on certain social media services. It strengthens also the promotion of cultural diversity, by introducing clear obligations for on-demand services to have at least a 30% share of European content in their catalogue and to ensure the prominence of this content. The Commission is required to issue the following guidelines: Guidelines on Video sharing platforms and Guidelines on European Works. This consultation is to gather the stakeholders’ input on specific technical issues.

The Commission is running a consultation on the review of the existing Procedural Recommendation related to notifications under internal market procedures in electronic communications. These notifications that are submitted by National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs), are currently governed by Article 7 of the Framework Directive. As of 21 December 2020, however, they will be covered by new provisions in the European Electronic Communications Code, making it necessary to issue updated guidance on the procedures.

The Commission’s proposed Horizon Europe programme would offer €100 billion to fund research and innovation in 2021-27.
