The 2025 BCO Network Annual Conference and the Sixth Meeting of the Public Authorities Group on 5G For innovation in Smart Communities (PA5GSC) will bring together National and Regional Broadband Competence Offices (BCOs), and Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) National Contact Points from across the EU, to review progress, exchange lessons learned, and discuss the strategic direction of broadband and 5G deployment in Europe.

 

Morning Session (10:00 – 13:20): 2025 BCO Network Annual Conference

The morning will be open exclusively to members of the European BCO Network.

It will explore:

  • The future Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and the continued importance of supporting rural and underserved areas.
  • A roundtable discussion highlighting successful drivers of broadband adoption, including commercial initiatives, vouchers, and community-led projects.
  • A way forward-looking roundtable discussion on lessons learned from the European Electronic Communications Code (EECC), with contributions from BCO representatives, and regulatory stakeholders.

 

Afternoon Session (13:20 – 16:15): Sixth Meeting of the Public Authorities Group on 5G For innovation in Smart Communities (PA5GSC)

The afternoon will be open exclusively to members of the European BCO Network and PA5GSC.

The session will highlight the role of 5G in Europe’s digital transformation with:

  • A presentation of the updated 5G Deployment Guide Review and its practical applications.
  • A roundtable discussion addressing the continuing importance of 5G deployment and the need for 5G for Smart Communities support.

 

These two events are offered as part of the European Broadband Competence Offices (BCO) Network’s work to raise awareness of EU support for high-speed broadband deployment and share good practices in broadband projects.
