The eArchiving Initiative would like to inform you that the European Commission has decided not to extend the current tender of the eArchiving Initiative. This decision is based on new budget priorities within the European Union and does not reflect in any way on the quality or impact of the work carried out under the initiative.
E-ARK will continue its mission under the stewardship of the DLM Forum, the DILCIS Board, and the Open Preservation Foundation (OPF), ensuring its long-term sustainability and continued support for the digital preservation community.
A virtual update session will take place on Thursday, 11 September 2025, 10.00–11.00 CEST, informing information will be provided on the work going forward.
Presentations on the way forward will be given by Fulgencio Sanmartin and Árpád Welker of the European Commission, Anja Pauliç and John Sheridan of the DLM Forum, Karin Bredenberg of the DILCIS Board, and Neil Jeffries of the Open Preservation Foundation (OPF).
