The event’s theme is “Digital Transformation powered by Data and AI”. It brings together industry professionals, business developers, researchers and policy-makers from all over Europe and other regions of the world to advance policy actions, and industrial and research activities in the areas of Data and AI. The programme is structured into tracks approaching the theme from a sectorial and cross-sectorial angle. The sessions discuss the topics of adoption of industrial and trustworthy AI, Data Spaces, platforms, societal impacts, manufacturing, smart cities, healthcare and many others.
The EBDVF 2021 is an associated Slovenian EU Presidency event and part of it will be hosted in Ljubljana. The event is organised in collaboration with DIH Slovenia, ICT Association of Slovenia (Chamber of Commerce and Industry Slovenia), Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI) and the University of Ljubljana. The main conference will start with keynotes delivered by high-level political and industry representatives sharing their views on data and data-driven AI-related policy developments.
All the sessions will be streamed online. The networking tools allow participants to quickly set up a video call or coffee break and chat with the home audience while watching presentations on stage. The speakers will have a chance to interact with the viewers before, during and after the presentations.
The EBDVF has a 5-year history and the event gathers yearly 600 to 2000 attendees. The first edition of the event was organised in Versailles in 2017 and focused on “Trusted AI in Smart Industry”. The second edition in Vienna in 2018 covered the topic of “Data-Driven AI for the Future” and was an official event of the Austrian EU Presidency. The 2019 edition of EBDVF was hosted by Helsinki and focused on “AI and Big Data Transforming Business and Society”. The EBDVF 2020 gathered the German and European AI and Data communities together with a central theme “Towards a strong European Data and AI Ecosystem”.
