Poster of the European Film Forum in San Sebastian
The first panel, entitled 'Co-financing formulas for a better exploitation of rights', will explore new financing and collaboration
models and will feature the case study of O que arde (Fire will come) by Oliver Laxe to illustrate the possibilities for combining different sources of public and private financing and how a European instrument like the Creative Europe Guarantee Facility and, in the future, InvestEU, can help the European audiovisual industry finance its activities. The use of new technologies, such as blockchain, strongly incentivised by Zinemaldia & Technology*, can add value in this respect.
The second panel, focused on co-distribution and co-production, will more specifically shed light on how an increasingly competitive collaboration environment may notably help European works to increase their audiences across the world, through the support of co-production funds. The film Grace à Dieu (By the grace of God) by François Ozon will be explained as an example.
