EuroQCI aim at securing governmental communication, data and critical infrastructures by deploying a pan European space and terrestrial network for quantum distribution of cryptographic keys (QKD). Building on the activities already funded under the Digital Europe Programme and planned under the Connecting Europe Facility (Digital), the IRIS²program is supporting the further development and deployment of the EuroQCI initiative and prepare for its gradual integration as a service into the Union secure connectivity system.
This call foresee three topics that contribute to the objectives of the EuroQCI Declaration by addressing the maturation of the European industrial ecosystem for security-certified terrestrial QKD technologies and systems, the coordination of EuroQCI deployments across Europe and the support to necessary standardisation activities.
The call is published on the EU Funding & Tenders Portal (DIGITAL-IRIS2-2025-QCI), with applications accepted as from 15 July and with a deadline for submission on 16 October 2025.
To support potential applicants, this information session will offer a closer look at the call topics and objectives, along with practical guidance and a chance to ask questions about the application process.
