Call topics
These 3 call topics were presented together with the DIGITAL programme rules of participation. Potential applicants were able to ask questions in the Q&A session. Attendees interested in the “Deployment of cutting-edge multi-modal AI-based solutions in medical imaging” took part in a networking session.
Data ingestion capacities and data services for the European Genomic Data Infrastructure in the European Health Data Space: data tools
The objective of the topic is to further advance the 1+ Million Genomes initiative and enhance the European genomic data infrastructure by supporting the deployment of advanced tools, APIs and interfaces for data inclusion, curation and use, and the infrastructure’s alignment with the European Health Data Space (EHDS) Regulation. Such tools will foster availability of high-quality data addressing the needs of healthcare and public health policy and enable implementation of citizens’ rights on personal data protection.
Call: DIGITAL-2026-AI-09-DS-HEALTH-TOOLS Budget: EUR 5 million
Data ingestion capacities and data services for the European Genomic Data Infrastructure in the European Health Data Space: data storage and processing capacity
The objective of the topic is to contribute to boosting the capacity of Member States to sequence human genomes by scaling up dedicated secure data storage and processing environments.
Call: DIGITAL-2026-AI-09-DS-HEALTH-STORAGE Budget: EUR 17.5 million
Deployment of cutting-edge multi-modal AI-based solutions in medical imaging
The objective of the topic is to facilitate the uptake of EU AI-driven solutions in medical imaging (including Machine Learning and Generative AI), towards their deployment in clinical settings by building on, extending and leveraging the Cancer Image Europe platform in alignment with the European Health Data Space (EHDS) Regulation.
Call: DIGITAL-2026-AI-09-AI-SOLUTIONS-CANCER-STEP Budget: EUR 14.4 million
Networking session
Organisations potentially interested in the DIGITAL-2026-AI-09-AI-SOLUTIONS-CANCER-STEP topic had the possibility to present their organisations/ideas in a dedicated pitching session.
