Information session: Protocols for reserving rights from text and data mining under the AI Act and the GPAI Code of Practice

The Commission is organising an online information session supporting the consultation on the implementation of the AI Act’s copyright-related obligations for GPAI providers.

The stakeholder consultation on measure 1.3 of the GPAI code of practice opened on 01 December. The purpose of this information session is to present an outline of the consulation process to interested stakeholders. The consulation will facilitate the identification and general agreement on a list of technical protocols for the expression of their rights reservations by rightsholders from text and data mining in the context of the implementation of the AI Act and the copyright chapter of the Code of Practice for General-Purpose AI (GPAI).

  • 16.00 – 16.10 - Welcome and introductory remarks by Lucilla Sioli, Director of the EU AI Office
  • 16.10 – 16.30 - Presentation of the process to implement Measure 1.3 of the Copyright Chapter of the GPAI Code of Practice
  • 16.30 – 16.55 - Presentation of the technical solutions identified in the EUIPO study on Generative AI from a copyright perspective for the reservation of rights under the TDM exception
  • 16.55 – 17.00 - Closing remarks
