Key Digital Technologies at ICT 2018

The session at the ICT 2018 Conference will discuss the future of digital innovation in Europe, including the role of Partnerships in the development and widespread diffusion of key digital technologies

This session will highlight the actions needed to maintain or regain European leadership in relevant technology areas.

The main focus will be on challenges and opportunities provided by the next generation of digital technologies such as micro/nano-electronics, photonics and software for European society and industry, and on their impact on European research and innovation investments. In this context, the role of partnerships in aligning R&I priorities across Europe and leveraging additional private and public funding will be discussed.

Panel discussions will address: “The Future of Digital Technologies“ and “How to Go Forward: the Roles of the European institutions, Partnerships and Industry”.

Alberto Sangiovanni Vincentelli, University of California at Berkeley, will introduce the session with the keynote speech: "Europeans do it better (in technology)?"

About ICT 2018

ICT 2018 will take place in Vienna on 4-6 December 2018. This research and innovation event will focus on the European Union’s priorities in the digital transformation of society and industry. It will present an opportunity for the people involved in this transformation to share their experience and vision of Europe in the digital age.
