Reuse à la Polonaise: Copyright law, practice and potential of the reuse of digitised cultural heritage

On the occasion of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, join us for a full day event focusing on preservation of cultural heritage in a digitised format and enabling its reuse in line with EU and Polish copyright law.

The event is organised in cooperation with the Centrum Cyfrowe.

This event will consist of different sessions with theoretical and practical parts, including an interactive hands-on workshop and peer-exchange of thoughts and ideas.

The morning sessions will be dedicated to the topic of digitising cultural heritage and making it available for reuse with presentations on the importance of reusing digitised cultural heritage collections. In the afternoon, attendees will participate in a hands-on workshop dedicated to case studies relating to reusing digitised collections in three use cases: education, research and creative industry. 

Key objectives

  • Learn about EU and Polish copyright to digitise cultural heritage materials and make it available to the public (including researchers, creators, educators, and the general public) 
  • Discover best practices on the reuse of digital collections 
  • Practice, using concrete examples, how to apply Polish and EU copyright for the reuse of digitised cultural heritage collections 

Target audience: Polish digital heritage specialists and cultural heritage professionals, creators and researchers interested in reuse of digital heritage, archivists, historians, library professionals
