In January 2017 the Commission adopted the 'Building a European Data Economy' Package where it addressed, among other issues, the opportunities and challenges related to access and re-use of data.
The 'Building a European Data Economy' Communication announced a structured dialogue with stakeholders which included a public consultation (closed on 26 April) and a series of workshops. This workshop represents an opportunity for SMEs and start-ups to have their say and provide their input on the challenges and uncertainties they face when trying to access and re-use data. Finding the right answers to these questions is essential in order to unleash the full potential of the EU Data Economy.
The webinar presents several concrete examples of how SMEs and start-ups access data and build their business models, as well as what their concrete needs are, in order to expand their business, and the barriers they face. The webinar also hosts a live poll which gives all attendees a voice in this stakeholder's engagement workshop. The immediate discussion of the survey findings leaves all participants with a clearer picture of how using data can improve their business and what are the main problems and concerns SMEs and start-up face.
The webinar takes place on the 29 May 2017 from 14.00-17.00
Criteria for participants:
- Participants should be SMEs or start-ups- engaged in B2B relations- and interested and/or active in data access and use issues.
