Background

The CCS GF, launched in 2016, aims to enhance access to finance for SMEs and Small Public Enterprises in the cultural and creative sectors. This includes enterprises active in news media.

The CCS GF is an initiative managed by EIF on behalf of the European Commission and was launched under the framework of the Creative Europe programme. Concretely, it stimulates financial intermediaries to provide loans to businesses from the cultural and creative sectors by covering part of the risk of default. As a result, cultural and creative SMEs and Small Public Enterprises have better access to finance.

The CCS GF can be made available in all EU Member States, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, which are the countries eligible to participate in this instrument. At present, loans under the CCS GF are available through financial intermediaries in 11 countries and additional financial intermediaries are underway.
