This funding call of EUR 500,000 aims to support cloud infrastructure, platform and software services and drive improved agility and outcomes for research projects. It is part of the final adoption funding call of approximately EUR 6.5 million intended to researchers who will collaborate with local OCRE suppliers of commercial cloud services on compelling proposals. Interested research institutes should identify participating suppliers using the OCRE cloud catalogue, and to reach out to those most likely to suit their individual needs with details of eligible projects.

The call will be open for submissions from 26 April 2022 until 7 July 2022, 12.00 (CEST).

Background

The Open Clouds for Research Environments project (OCRE), aims to accelerate cloud adoption in the European research community, by bringing together cloud providers, Earth Observation (EO) organisations and the research and education community, through ready-to-use service agreements and €9.5 million in adoption funding.

OCRE, which was launched in January 2019, will address this by running a pan-European tender and establishing framework agreements with cloud service providers that meet the specific requirements of the research community, saving institutions the time-consuming and complex process of doing this themselves.
