2019 Rolling plan for ICT standardisation

The 2019 version of the Rolling Plan for ICT standardisation was released by the European Commission on 20 March 2019. It identifies ICT standardisation activities in support of EU policies.

Every year the rolling plan is updated and extended to reflect new EU policies and new technologies. In the 2019 edition, 4 new chapters were added; 

  1. Artificial intelligence
  2. European Global Navigation Satellite System (EGNSS) have been added to the 'Key enablers and security' chapter
  3. Water management digitisation' and 
  4. Single European sky' have been added to the 'Sustainable growth' chapter.

Study on best practices for ICT procurement based on standards in order to promote efficiency and reduce lock-in

This study was carried out between January 2014 and January 2016. It aims primarily at supporting the European Commission in building a community of people related to the field of public procurement of ICT systems and services, willing to share best practices on how to make better use of standards in public procurement in order to solve ICT lock-in. Open Standards for ICT Procurement is a 24 month project of DG Connect of the European Commission, meant to facilitate and promote the use of standards when procuring ICT.
