The hybrid event in Brussels marked the launch of the European Cancer Imaging Initiative, one of the Flagship Initiatives of the Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.
The event started with video messages from the Commissioner for Internal Market, Thierry Breton and the Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Stella Kyriakides. Two opening statements followed, from Director-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology, Roberto Viola, and Philippe Roux, representing Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety.
Prof. Luis Martí-Bonmatí provided an overview of the Federated European Infrastructure for Cancer Images Data (EUCAIM) project which started in January 2023 and which is the cornerstone of the European Cancer Imaging Initiative.
The event featured a panel discussion covering the clinical, industry, AI developer and research & innovation perspectives on the European Cancer Imaging Initiative, and it was followed by a discussion with the audience.
Over 100 people attended the event onsite in the Albert Borschette Conference Centre in Brussels, and almost 250 people followed the event online.
The recording and the presentations of the event are now available.
