Partners for Rural Digitalisation: the BCO and EU CAP networks

The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) Networks will follow an integrated approach in supporting modernisation, innovation and knowledge flows in rural and remote areas. The cooperation between the European Broadband Competence Offices (BCO) Network and the EU CAP Network is essential to foster rural digitalisation and face challenges of European cohesion.

The rural development actors will connect with their Broadband Competence Offices and CAP Network branches as key partners to foster, accelerate and improve rural digitalisation projects. These EU networks act as platforms for knowledge exchange and capacity building, provide support for rural communities to effectively deploy digital infrastructure and solutions, and help implement innovative practices.

For more details on the activities of the networks and cooperation opportunities, check the recording and presentations from the session Your Partners for Rural Digitalisation: The BCO Network and EU CAP Network of 12 October 2022 during the #EURegionsWeek, organised jointly by the European Broadband Competence Offices Network Support Facility (BCO SF), European Commission (DG AGRI) and European CAP Network.

About CAP and BCO networks

The  CAP Network  will bring under one single EU-level network current stakeholders covering innovation, implementation and evaluation, and also involve new ones.

A Broadband Competence Office (BCO) informs citizens and businesses about broadband developments and deployments in their country/region. BCOs also provide technical support to local and regional authorities regarding the deployment of broadband networks. This includes ways to invest effectively in broadband projects with the support of European regional and agricultural funds (ERDF and EAFRD), in combination with financial instruments where possible, and including information on state aid rules and procedures.
