Italy, 19 March 2026 – Telecom Italia (TIM) and Fastweb+Vodafone, owned by Swisscom, have signed an agreement to establish a 50/50 joint venture focused on building new tower infrastructure across Italy. The project targets the deployment of up to 6 000 sites, with both operators acting as anchor tenants under long-term agreements at market rates. The joint venture could later open its capital to third-party investors, reflecting a hybrid infrastructure model. The initiative is intended to accelerate 5G rollout while improving cost efficiency and bringing network economics more closely into line with European benchmarks.
