Kropyvnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk and Vynnyky, Ukraine, 14 May 2025  Vodafone Ukraine, in partnership with Huawei and Nokia, has begun testing fifth-generation (5G) technology in Kropyvnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk and Vynnyky, following approval from Ukraine’s telecommunications regulator, the National Commission for the State Regulation of Electronic Communications (NCEC). The trials, which will run through 31 July 2025, aim to assess the spectral efficiency of 5G non-standalone (NSA) technology compared with long-term evolution time division duplex (LTE TDD), as well as electromagnetic compatibility and deployment costs.

Huawei is partnering with Vodafone in Kropyvnytskyi and Ivano-Frankivsk, while Nokia is conducting trials with Vodafone in Vynnyky. The results will be submitted within one month of the conclusion of testing.
