
The big winners of the night were “Quo Vadis, Aida?” by Jasmila Žbanić, which received a total of three awards: European Film, European Director and European Actress for Jasna Đuričić’s performance; and “Flee” by Jonas Poher Rasmussen, which received the European Documentary, European Animated Feature Film and European University Film Awards.
Additionally, Anthony Hopkins received the European Actor award for his role in “The Father” by Florian Zeller, which also received the European Screenwriter Award.
Other awards such as European Visual Effects, European Make-up and Hair, European Costume Design and European Production Design went to “Lamb” by Valdimar Jóhannsson, “Titane” by Julia Ducournau, “Ammonite” by Francis Lee and “Natural Light” by Dénes Nagy, respectively.
The EU supported the development and distribution of these titles through the Creative Europe MEDIA programme.
The Festival also held the announcement of the three finalists of the LUX European Audience Film Award: “Great Freedom” and MEDIA-supported “Quo Vadis, Aida?” and “Flee”.
For the second time, this initiative, led by the European Parliament and the European Film Academy, in partnership with the European Commission and Europa Cinemas, will include a public vote.
