This video is part of a series on broadband roll-out in Europe, produced for the European Network of Broadband Competence Offices (BCO Network).
National workshops
The European Commission, in collaboration with the European Broadband Competence Offices Network (BCO Network), is organising dedicated workshops hosted by individual Member States. These will focus on areas of CEF2 most relevant to each State, and will include briefing sessions with public administrations and private operators about the future funding priorities. Workshops have already taken place in Austria, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Hungary, Denmark and Croatia. The next ones are planned for Belgium and Portugal in the coming weeks. For more information, contact your national Broadband Competence Office (BCO) through the BCO Network Directory.

During this workshop, BCO Poland was invited to share a good practices case study from 'School Net', a Polish socio-economic drivers aid scheme bringing high-speed connectivity to schools; and BCO Greece was invited to share good practices on 'white area' coverage from a Greek State aid scheme case study.
EU Study workshop
The European Commission hosted a study workshop on October 1: “Smart Investments for Smart Communities”. This workshop included presentations of the preliminary results of a study analysing potential market failures in digital infrastructures and assessing which players could benefit from EU subsidies; how funding schemes could be structured and combined with funding and financing from other public and private sources; and the preliminary results of the CEF2 Digital online public consultation. The web stream video of the workshop is available to watch online, and the study team presentation can also be downloaded here.
