The European Open Science Cloud at ICT Proposers' Day 2019

Over the recent years, the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), a fundamental enabler of Open Science and of the digital transformation of science, has emerged as a clear policy priority for European research and innovation.

EOSC aims to offer “1.7 million European researchers and 70 million professionals in science and technology a virtual environment with free at the point of use, open and seamless services for storage, management, analysis and re-use of research data, across borders and scientific disciplines”.

Are you interested to co-create the future of the European Open Science Cloud? To become a user, or a service provider? You can find out more on the EOSC, and the ways to engage with this inspiring EC initiative, at the ICT Proposers’ Day 2019:

  • A networking session for the EOSC-related calls for proposals in Research Infrastructures Work Programme 2020 is organised on 20 September (13:15-14:30, Hall 3, Room "FET, Innovation & EOSC"). Funding will cover both the consolidation and scaling up of the EOSC Portal (INFRAEOSC-03-2020) and the increase of the service offer through the Portal (INFRAEOSC-07-2020). Indicatively, the calls cover operational aspects of the EOSC Portal, the engagement with the service providers and the interaction with users, higher integration for service composability, the use of Artificial Intelligence techniques for improving the user experience, the widening of the EOSC user base to non-research communities, the widening of the service offer with commercial services, training and outreach. The overall budget for the 2 calls amounts to approx. 65 Meuro. Submission of proposals will start on 19 November 2019, with a deadline on 22 April 2020.
  •  A booth on the European Open Science Cloud will be available to give you more information on the work that has already been done, and the forthcoming calls for proposals. At the same booth, GEANT, the pan-European data network for the research and education community interconnecting over 50 million users at 10.000 institutions across Europe, will be presented.
