Introducing the finalists of the European Broadband Awards 2017

The jury selected 15 finalists of the European Broadband Awards 2017. Find out who are the nominated projects. The winners will be awarded on 20 November at the Broadband Days 2017.

European Broadband Awards 2017

Altogether 49 projects from 20 countries from all over Europe applied for the European Broadband Awards 2017. The jury composed of five European experts in broadband assessed the projects and selected 15 outstanding examples of broadband rollout in Europe.

Category 1: Innovative models of financing, business and investment

Category 2: Cost reduction and co-investment in a future proof infrastructure

Category 3: Territorial cohesion in rural and remote areas

Category 4: Socio-economic impact and affordability

Category 5: Openness and competition

The winners of the European Broadband Awards 2017 (one per category) will be announced and awarded at the Award Ceremony on 20 November, in the frame of the Broadband Days 2017. The European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Mariya Gabriel will host the ceremony. Commissioner Gabriel has also invited Commissioners Crețu (Regional Policy) and Hogan (Agriculture & Rural Development) to present the Awards in some of the categories.
