Mr Per-Olof Gustafsson, Sweden
Per-Olof Gustafsson is Senior Advisor at Stokab, which is the City of Stockholm’s IT Infrastructure Company. Stokab operates an open and operator neutral passive fibre network and leases out dark fibre on market terms. Per-Olof has prior to the role as Senior Advisor been Deputy CEO of Stokab during the years 2007-2016. Per-Olof has long and solid experience with different assignments in the City of Stockholm. He worked in the City Hall for 15 years with different areas such as finance, ICT, infrastructure and regional cooperation in the Stockholm – Malardalen region. He has also been Deputy CEO of Stockholm Business Region that promote, develop and market Stockholm as a business and tourist destination.
Mr Ferenc Kneisz, Hungary
Ferenc Kneisz works as a senior expert in the Governmental Information Technology Development Agency of Hungary (KFÜ). He has an electrical engineer diploma from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Technical University Budapest, degree for telecommunication and a diploma as an engineer - economist and engineer- teacher. Ferenc started his career as a technical teacher in a secondary school for telecommunications in 1976. After seven years of practice he changed to the telecom industry. He actively participated in the digitalization projects of the country and spent 3 years in Vienna to develop his knowledge in digital telecom switching technology. In 2002 he has been announced as head of group network strategy. Apart from producing the yearly group technical strategy his major task was to prepare the merge of fixed and mobile business. Having spent 25 years in the telco business, after reorganization of Magyar Telekom he changed to the ministry responsible for telecom and infocommunication (first Ministry of National Development, later Ministry for Innovation and Technology). He was deeply involved in the preparation of the Hungarian National Infocommunications Strategy and also managed the nationwide Superfast Internet Programme. He represents Hungary in the CEF2 Digital Committee and Expert Group and he is one of the Hungarian BCOs.
Mr Filip Meuris, Belgium
Filip Meuris is head of department of Intercommunale Leiedal (Belgium) and co-founder MyMachine. He holds several master’s degrees including Political Sciences, International Law and Industrial and Information Technology. Filip has extensive professional experience in the field of regional development, public digital services delivery and digital transformation. He is/has been member of Flemish advisory boards on geodata and digital services. Filip is author of several articles and publications on spatial planning and regional development and co-author 'What is your dream machine?' (2019).
Ms Eglė Misienė, Lithuania
Eglė Misienė works as Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs in Public Establishment “Plačiajuostis internetas” under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania. The company implements broadband projects in rural areas of Lithuania and provides wholesale telecommunication services for telecom operators. Eglė holds Master degree in International Relationships and Diplomacy at Vilnius University Institute of International Relations and Political Science and Bachelor degree in Business Management studies at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. She has 15 years of experience in the telecommunication sector and 13 years of them working in telecommunications projects financed by European Union Funds and Government of Lithuania. Eglė participated in many broadband development projects implemented in Lithuania: Rural Area Information Technology Broadband Network (RAIN), Development of Rural Area Information Technology Broadband Network (RAIN II), The Development of Broadband Network Infrastructure in Rural Areas (PRIP) and Support for broadband infrastructure (PRIP II) and Development of Next Generation Access Infrastructure (RAIN III). She has international consulting experience in broadband development projects.
Mr Nicos Ioannou, Cyprus
Nicos Ioannou works as an Electronic Communications Officer at the Department of Electronic Communications of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy. He holds a BSc degree from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of University of Surrey (UK) and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from University of Cyprus. His career in telecom industry started in 1998 at Nortel networks (Cyprus) as a telecommunications engineer. He has more than 15 years of experience in the field of Information, Learning and Multimedia Technologies in academic institutions in Cyprus. He joined the Department of Electronic Communications in 2018 and since then he is the coordinator of the Broadband Competence Office in Cyprus. Among his duties include the development of the National Broadband Plan and coordination of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) for the design and implementation of broadband projects.
The European Broadband Awards 2022
Deadline for applying for the awards is 31 January 2022. The finalists of the European Broadband Awards will be announced on the Broadband Europe website and newsletter in February 2022. The winners (one per category) will be announced and awarded at the Award Ceremony and showcased at the Broadband Day 2022.
