The amendment will allow Moldova access to the EU Cybersecurity Reserve, an initiative under the Cyber Solidarity Act. Moldova’s access will be subject to the requirements set out in the Act, which was designed to make Europe more resilient and reactive to cyber threats.
The Cybersecurity Reserve consists of trusted providers that can intervene in case of a significant or large-scale cybersecurity attack at the request of a member state or EU institutions, agencies and bodies. Moldova’s inclusion reflects its deepening cooperation with the EU in the area of cybersecurity.
Moldova’s Association Agreement to the Digital Europe Programme has been in force since 1 January 2024, allowing eligible organisations in Moldova to access the calls of the Digital Europe Programme and to take part in projects that deploy digital technologies across the EU.
