The extended application deadline was 11 June 2025. The projects applied in one of the three categories:

  • Category 1 - Excellence and innovation in deployment of Gigabit-Ready Infrastructure
  • Category 2 - Champions in addressing digital divide in rural and remote areas
  • Category 3 - Cross-border and international connectivity

Following a thorough review process, the jury has selected nine outstanding initiatives that are making a real impact in bringing high-speed digital connectivity to Europe as nominees for the awards. The three winners were announced and awarded at an award ceremony on 7 October 2025 in Brussels.

The European Commission extends its deepest thanks to all the projects that applied and are contributing to better, more inclusive connectivity across Europe and warmly congratulates the awarded winners.
