This publication is made pursuant to Article 124.1 (b) of the Rules of Application of the Financial Regulation that provides for an ex-ante publication on the Institutions' websites of contracts with a value up to 60.000 EUR.

Only the candidates invited by the contracting authority to participate in the procedure for awarding this low value contract will be admissible.

EU-India workshop on ICT research and innovation

The Indian Department of Electronics and IT organised a workshop with high level participation from key Indian organisations and European participants on 29 April 2014. Electronics has strong potential for closer cooperation at industrial and research level. STMicroelectronics is a technology leader in a consortium negotiating financial closure with the Government of India for setting up a multi-billion dollar wafer fab, and IMEC is launching complementary research activities in India. Other potentially promising areas could include language technologies, smart cards, cyber-physical systems, High Performance Computing, cloud computing, Internet of Things, software, and digital (incl. 3D) heritage preservation.

Global conference delivers momentum for reform of how internet is run

Vice-President Neelie Kroes welcomes the outcome of the NETmundial conference on Internet Governance in Sao Paulo, Brazil: "Netmundial has put us on the right track. The concluding declaration adopted by acclamation proves that a global multistakeholder approach can produce concrete outcomes."

NETmundial: European Commission to take leading role at global conference on internet governance

The EU, represented by European Commission Vice President Neelie Kroes and EU Special Representative for Human Rights, Stavros Lambrinidis, is to participate at high level in “NETmundial: the Global Multi-stakeholder Meeting on the Future of Internet Gorvernance”, Sao Paulo on 23-24 April. Neelie Kroes is a member of the High Level committee of NETmundial and has contributed to the preparation of the Conference document.

5G Research in Horizon 2020 Webcast

This webcast focuses on key aspects of the 5G EU research activities and the Horizon 2020 programme funding opportunities to implement the 5G-Public Private Partnership (5G-PPP). The 5G-PPP focuses on communications infrastructure with an EU budget of € 700 million for research, development and innovation over the next seven years. € 125 million are available in the first call for proposals, which closes on 25 November 2014.
