The members of the Alliance to better protect minors online met online on 29 June 2021. The main objectives of the meeting was to exchange information on recent developments such as the Commission Proposals: on Artificial Intelligence and on a European Digital Identity. A concept for the BIK Youth Pledge Phase 2.0 was also presented.

Exploring potential of AI in fight against child online abuse

On 11 February, the international Safer Internet Day, the EU-funded INHOPE network together with experts from industry, law enforcement agencies and academia met in a workshop dedicated to the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in the fight against online child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Pilot Project: Outline and trial an infrastructure dedicated to the implementation of child rights and protection mechanisms in the online domain

This Call for Proposals follows the EP Pilot Project "Outline and trial an infrastructure dedicated to the implementation of child rights and protection mechanisms in the online domain based on the GDPR and other existing EU legislation relevant for the child within the online domain". It seeks proposals by a consortium composed of at least 5 legal entities from at least 3 different EU Member States and EEA countries.

The deadline for the first 2020 CEF Telecom call is extended: Over €31 million available until 25 June

The deadline for the 2020-1 Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Telecom call for proposals is now extended until 25 June to give more time for applicants to prepare their proposals. Co-funding to stimulate and support the deployment of European Digital Service Infrastructures (DSIs) is offered in the areas of Automated Translation, Blockchain, eDelivery, eIdentification & eSignature, European Platform for Digital Skills and Jobs, Europeana and Safer Internet. Up to €31.4 million is available to create full cross-border digital infrastructure, in areas of public interest.
