Two EU-supported films received awards at the 71st Berlin International Film Festival that took place online last week: the Silver Bear for Best Director went to Dénes Nagy for ‘Natural Light' (Természetes fény) and the Special Jury Award in Encounters went to ‘Taste' (Vị), by Lê Bảo. Nine EU-supported films and series were nominated for awards.

The news media and audiovisual sectors are considered drivers in shaping our beliefs, values and perceptions, and are thus a window to new ways of thinking, changing attitudes and challenging stereotypes. Being inclusive with all talents and improving equal access to finance, visibility and equal participation will help European societies transform and will benefit creation with a richer diversity of content and forms of narratives.
