This detailed event report from the session 'Digital twins for cities' aims to support and encourage further discussions related to Urban Digital Twins. The session presented the benefits of urban digital twins and heard the experience of EU cities where implementation is currently underway. Event held as part of the European Week of Regions and Cities, 13-15 October 2020.

The Commission has just published the results of a study for greener cloud services and data centres. Results show that energy consumption of data centres in EU Member States is expected to increase from 2.7% of the electricity demand in 2018 to 3.2% by 2030. The study provides technical and policy options to limit this increase.
