Digital Building Blocks for Horizon 2020 eGovernment Projects

Under Horizon 2020, the European Commission funded 56 projects on the topic of eGovernment. All these projects have been working to bring eGovernment closer to the citizen, supporting the modernisation of public administrations, by the use of digital tools.These tools, like the CEF Building Blocks, are open and reusable, standards-based solutions, which interconnect Europe's varied national I.T. landscapes.

Action plan on Integration and Inclusion 2021-2027 : Digital public services as an enabler

The Action Plan on Integration and Inclusion contains a section on new technologies and digital tools, in which the importance of inclusive digital public services is prominently mentioned. eID and trust services are also highlighted for their importance.
In this Action Plan, the Commission commits itself to ‘work on an inclusive EU e-government action plan, that promotes human-centric digital public services for citizens, including migrants, and engagement of migrants in the creation and delivery of digital public services’.

Call for tenders: EU blockchain pre-commercial procurement

The European Commission is launching the call for tenders for the EU blockchain pre-commercial procurement to develop new capabilities for the European Blockchain Service Infrastructure. This procurement is done in relation to the work of the European Blockchain Partnership, a cooperation between the European Commission, all EU Member States and some countries of the European Economic Area.

EU funding available for public procurements of innovative solutions

The EU funding program COSME provides EUR 5 million funding for transnational consortia with minimum 2 public buyers to implement public procurement of innovation solutions (PPI). The call is open to proposals that are interested to deploy innovative solutions for any domain of public sector activity (health, digital, climate, transport, education, energy etc.). The deadline for submission of proposals for the 1st and 2nd stage of the evaluation process is 19/01/2021 and 08/06/2021 respectively.

Towards a next generation cloud for Europe

The European Commission and the German Presidency of the Council of the European Union welcome the political will expressed by all 27 Member States on the next generation cloud for Europe. This secure and competitive cloud offering is essential to provide the trustworthy data processing infrastructure and services that public administrations, businesses and citizens require in Europe.

Living-in.eu movement – 3rd meeting with signatories of the declaration

With more than 150 participants in an interactive Zoom session hosted by ENoLL, the third plenary meeting of the Living-in.eu movement held on 29 September 2020 was a big success.
The chair Eddy Hartog and his colleagues had the pleasure to host more than 60 cities, partially signatories of the political declaration Living.-in.eu but also some guest cities from the Intelligent Cities Challenge programme, the organisations behind the initiative ENoLL, Eurocities, OASC, the Committee of the Regions and several services of the European Commission.
