The input  gathered from this public consultation will feed into a new policy Recommendation to be adopted by end of 2018/ beginning of 2019, as announced in the recent Communication on Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM), as part of Europe on the move (so called 3rd Mobility Package).

This public consultation aims to identify the main challenges linked to the deployment of connected and automated vehicles today from the general public and relevant stakeholders (such as car manufacturers, connectivity providers, service providers, telecom providers, end-users, and public authorities including municipalities, the health community, and  civil society organisations).

In relation to this topic, the consultation investigates three main aspects:

  1. cybersecurity threats and trust issues,
  2. data governance aspects (e.g. governance models; principles for car data sharing), privacy and data protection needs,
  3. different aspects of technology needs for 5G large scale testing or pre-deployment.
