B-DAY: Going Giga Conference, 14-15 Nov in Brussels

The B-Day: Going Giga conference was the first major opportunity to have questions answered and discussed at European level after the European strategy for a Gigabit society and the legislative proposals for a telecom review. Commissioner Oettinger was keynote speaker at the event. The Commissioner had also awarded the five winners of the European Broadband Awards 2016.

Meeting of the Broadband Competence Offices (BCO) Network

14 November - 14:00-17:00

The meeting focused on:

  • the presentation of the European BCO Network initiative and the EU support Facility,
  • the consultation to gather ideas about the work programme for the BCO network,
  • the presentation of the WiFi4EU initiative including the role of the BCO network in the implementation process.

Awards Ceremony of the European Broadband Awards 2016

14 November - 18:00-20:00

Günther H. Oettinger, Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, awarded the five winners. Out of 66 great projects across Europe, 16 finalists were selected. B-Day: Going Giga

A conference in hot pursuit of the Telecoms Code and the Gigabit Communication. What are the strategic objectives for 2025?
