EOSC Secretariat
European Open Science Cloud
The event will be a one day interactive forum during which the EOSC Executive and Governance Boards and its working groups will present their progress. Participants will have the opportunity to share theirs feedback and comments. All the inputs received will help the EOSC governance to set future priorities and may serve as assessing what potential, new topics can be fed into the Research Data Alliance (RDA) working groups to address the international aspects of EOSC. All the feedback received will be also used to shape the EOSC Symposium event, taking place on 26-28 November 2019, in Budapest, Hungary.
Moreover, taking advantage of the international dimension of the event, representatives from the Governance board will offer their national perspectives and agendas around research data to collect feedback and share lessons learned with representatives from other regions.
The event is targeting European and international research data practitioners, all EOSC family related projects, research and academic institutions, policy makers and funding agencies. Participants will gain a better understanding of what engagement opportunities are available for EOSC, grab the opportunity to apply for any open calls in the EOSCSecretariat.eu project and become part of the EOSC community.

Background
The EOSC, proposed in April 2016 as part of the European Commission Communication “European Cloud Initiative - Building a competitive data and knowledge economy in Europe”, federates existing and emerging data infrastructures and provides European researchers with world-class data infrastructures, resources and services.
The EOSC portal, officially launched in November 2018, is the result of the progressive integration and consolidation of e-infrastructure projects, with the help of Horizon 2020 funding. It is a collective effort by the OpenAIRE, EOSC-hub, eInfraCentral and EOSCpilot projects that builds on the experience and technology of major pan-European e-infrastructures, universities and research infrastructures.
