Demand-side measures: training session for Broadband Competence Offices

The first part introduce demand-side measures and monetary aspects. It will cover the types of demand-side measures and their pros and cons; public funds for monetary demand-side measures, including voucher schemes; and a presentation on demand aggregation voucher schemes in Denmark. The second part will address the State aid implications of demand-side measures and voucher schemes. It will cover non-monetary demand-side measures, and two case studies. Registration is open to all members of the European Broadband Competence Offices (BCOs) Network until the end of May.

Speakers will include representatives from:

  • DG Competition, European Commission
  • BCO Denmark
  • World Bank

Throughout the day, each presentation will be followed by a discussion, and conclusions will be presented at the closing of the training session.

Background

This is the sixth training session organised by the BCO Network Support Facility in partnership with DGs CNECT, AGRI, REGIO and COMP.

These training sessions are part of a capacity-building knowledge-exchange programme run by the BCO Network Support Facility in order to connect and strengthen the BCO Network, support broadband roll-out in urban, rural and remote regions, and contribute to achieving the EU Digital Single Market and Gigabit Society objectives.
