The European Commission and Informatics Europe are co-organising a workshop on Bridging the Digital Talent Gap - Towards Successful Industry-University Partnerships, on 30 October 2019 in Rome. This workshop is organised in the framework of the European Computer Science Summit 2019.

The workshop will address the systemic gap of advanced digital skills the EU is facing with the contribution of experts from universities, industry and public policy makers.

The workshop will identify concrete ways to overcome advanced digital skills gap. It will also explore how cooperation between universities and businesses can contribute to bridge the gap, with a focus on three thematic areas: artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and software engineering.

The outcome of the workshop will be published in the form of a report and a call for action. It is also expected to feed into public policies and funding programmes at national and EU level - such as the Digital Europe Programme or Horizon Europe.

Participation is by invitation only. We are looking for participants with experience at the intersection of digital, business and high education sector, who can actively contribute to shaping the discussion. If you are interested and believe that you can contribute to the workshop, please send an email to Valentina Parziale by 16 October 2019, by indicating your relevant experience and area of interest.

Please note that the participation in the workshop is free of charge for those who will receive an invitation by the European Commission, but a reimbursement of expenses is not envisaged.
