Lithuania, 10 December 2025 – Telia has become the first operator in Lithuania to launch a nationwide 5G standalone network, activating a fully independent 5G core that delivers higher speeds, lower latency and improved stability during peak traffic periods. The network operates using Telia’s 3.5 gigahertz and 700 megahertz spectrum and already reaches the majority of the population.
Alongside the network launch, Telia introduced “VIP Internet for Homes”, a new premium consumer service that reserves dedicated network capacity for a limited number of users, ensuring consistently high performance in densely populated areas. According to the operator, 5G standalone enables advanced capabilities such as network slicing and latency below 10 milliseconds, contributing to a significantly improved customer experience.
