How to build a pan-European framework to support Innovation in SMEs

Fostering effective collaboration between European and National Innovation Programmes

A one-day summit organized by the Italian National Research Council and supported by the XIFI project that will gather key players in the European scene to present and discuss how EU programmes and National initiatives will boost innovation for Small and Medium Enterprises across Europe.

Starting from the H2020 framework, which actively supports SMEs by providing both direct financial, and indirect support to increase their innovation capacity, the main goal of the summit is to discuss how coordinated actions between the European Commission and various National Programs can boost R&D and Innovation as key pillars of the European SMEs' ecosystem growth.

Highlights:

  • The event will gather a number of key Decision makers in the European scene and National Institutions as invited speakers!
    • Opening by Prof. Luigi Nicolais, President of the Italian National Research Council, will provide an overview of the H2020 Innovation framework.
    • Dr. Roberto Viola, Deputy Director General at DG CONNECT, European Commission,
    • High-level representatives of the Italian, German and Austrian National Ministries of Research and Education will present the various national initiatives.
    • Other speakers to be confirmed will provide more insight into Future Internet activities and success stories.
  • A specific focus to the Future Internet Public-Private Partnership activities dedicated to SMEs as a unique chance for stimulating its Innovation and improve their access to market.
