The European Commission has put forward its proposal for a major recovery plan. To ensure the recovery is sustainable, even, inclusive and fair for all Member States, the European Commission is proposing to create a new recovery instrument, Next Generation EU, embedded within a powerful, modern and revamped long-term EU budget. The Commission has also unveiled its adjusted Work Programme for 2020, which will prioritise the actions needed to propel Europe's recovery and resilience.
A Digital Innovation Hub is a coordinated group of organisations with complementary expertise and a not-for-profit objective, offering a set of services to companies and public sector organisations, to support their digital transformation. Due to the travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 crisis, we have turned our planned “Workshop on Digital Innovation Hubs serving the public sector” (originally scheduled for 18/03/2020) into a number of webinars, until the situation allows us to meet in Brussels.

The objective of the consultation was to gather the views of stakeholders on the strategic objectives of the Digital Europe Programme for the first two years. The European Commission has published a draft document to prepare the implementation of European Digital Innovation Hubs in the Digital Europe Programme and is seeking feedback.
The Commission’s proposed Horizon Europe programme would offer €100 billion to fund research and innovation in 2021-27. It has now opened a public consultation on how best to support institutionalised partnerships, bringing together industry, EU Member States and other stakeholders, as part of this new programme. Anyone with an interest in research and innovation in Europe is invited to participate in this public consultation, which will close on 6 November 2019. It will provide crucial input for the impact assessment work for potential partnerships.
The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) funding programme will enter its second generation in 2021, for the seven-year period of 2021-2027. The European Commission’s Directorate General for Content Networks and Technologies is organising a public consultation to gather the views of stakeholders on the priority areas for EU digital infrastructure investments and the best ways to address existing connectivity needs with Connecting Europe Facility support.
