
The selected projects will contribute to the development of the EBRAINS research infrastructure and increase the scope of its application in terms of innovation, neuroscience and clinical research.
These are the areas of expertise sought and the available funding for each call for expression of interest (CEoI):
- CEoI 1: Validation and Inference - budget: € 700,000 for one proposal
- CEoI 2: Brain atlas and simulation engine adapter construction - budget € 450,000 for one proposal
- CEoI 3: Whole brain multi-parametric imaging using invasive and non-invasive recordings - budget € 450,000 for one proposal
- CEoI 4: Rodent microcircuits - budget € 900,000 for one proposal
- CEoI 5: Cellular level models for HPC simulation - budget € 900,000 for two proposals
Deadline to submit proposals for CEoI 1-4 is 2 December and for CEoI 5 is 4 December.
Two more calls are published for research into biological learning networks:
- CEoI 6: Application of visual scene understanding models to robotics use-cases of industrial relevance - budget: € 800,000 for 1 proposal
- CEoI 7: Integration of symbolic processing into the cognitive architectures - budget € 800,000 for one proposal
Deadline to submit proposals for CEoI 6-7 is 5 December.
Two more calls are published for research into the neural basis of cognition and consciousness:
- CEoI 8: Data and models for studying the neural basis of cognition - budget € 1,300,000 for one proposal
- CEoI 9: Data and models for the understanding of consciousness - budget € 800,000 for one proposal
Deadline to submit proposals for CEoI 8-9 is 11 December.
The CEoIs are open to applicants that are not currently involved in the HBP.
