Belgium’s telecom regulator reports near-universal 5G household coverage, with regional differences narrowing.

5G reaches 99.9% of Belgian households

Belgium, 10 July 2025 – The Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications (BIPT) has reported that 5G coverage now extends to 99.9% of households nationwide, based on measurements taken in January 2025. Approximately 69% of households enjoy very good coverage, though variations persist across regions and operators.

Telenet leads in both outdoor and indoor coverage, reaching 99.8% of households outdoors and 97% indoors, alongside the broadest territorial footprint. Proximus follows with 98.8% outdoor and 92% indoor household coverage, while Orange covers 96% outdoors and 86% indoors.

Indoor territorial coverage mirrors this pattern: Telenet at 89%, Proximus at 73%, and Orange at 64%. Signal quality remains higher in Flanders and Brussels than in Wallonia, due to differences in geography, population density, and deployment pace. However, BIPT highlights that these regional disparities continue to narrow as rollout efforts advance.
