On the 17 of July 2020, the High-Level Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI HLEG) presented their final Assessment List for Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence.
The present working paper summarizes selected findings of the macro-economic simulations conducted as part of the study "Shaping the digital transformation in Europe", which assess the potential impact of disruptive digital technologies on the economy and society in the EU and its member states. The study is carried out by McKinsey & Company on behalf of the Commission’s Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG Connect).
This document was written by the High-Level Expert Group on AI (AI HLEG). It is the second deliverable of the AI HLEG and follows the publication of the group's first deliverable, Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI, published on 8 April 2019. The AI HLEG is an independent expert group that was set up by the European Commission in June 2018.
We are used to thinking about artificial intelligence (AI) in the future tense, speculating how technological developments in this area will affect us. But if we spend too much time trying to figure out what to expect in the future, we risk not seeing that AI and robotisation have already started transforming our daily lives.
This document expands the definition of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as defined in the Commission Communication on AI. It clarifies certain aspects of AI as a scientific discipline and as a technology, with the aim to avoid misunderstanding, to achieve a shared common knowledge of AI that can be fruitfully used also by non - AI experts, and to provide useful details that can be used in the discussion on both the AI ethics guidelines and the AI policies recommendations.
Il 8 aprile 2019 il gruppo di esperti ad alto livello sull'IA ha presentato orientamenti etici per un'intelligenza artificiale affidabile. Ciò ha fatto seguito alla pubblicazione del primo progetto di orientamenti nel dicembre 2018, in merito al quale sono pervenute oltre 500 osservazioni nell'ambito di una consultazione aperta.
