È stato firmato l'accordo di collaborazione tra i 5 progetti Pathfinder/TEF proattivi del CEI. Il suo obiettivo principale è quello di elaborare un piano per un vero e proprio sistema di intelligence ambientale.
La Commissione ha approvato, ai sensi delle norme dell'UE in materia di aiuti di Stato, un secondo importante progetto di comune interesse europeo ("IPCEI") per sostenere la ricerca e l'innovazione nella catena del valore delle batterie. Il progetto, denominato "European Battery Innovation", è stato elaborato e notificato congiuntamente da Austria, Belgio, Croazia, Finlandia, Francia, Germania, Grecia, Italia, Polonia, Slovacchia, Spagna e Svezia.

Silvia ScĖ ione è specialista in bioingegneria. Dal 2010 è ricercatrice permanente presso il CNR e responsabile del Laboratorio di Ingegneria Tissue CNR-IEIIT di Genova. È anche fondatrice, presidente e responsabile scienziato di React4Life, una start-up innovativa nel campo delle biotecnologie.

The European Commission proposes to modernise EU legislation on batteries, delivering its first initiative among the actions announced in the new Circular Economy Action Plan. Batteries that are more sustainable throughout their life cycle are key for the goals of the European Green Deal and contribute to the zero pollution ambition set in it. They promote competitive sustainability and are necessary for green transport, clean energy and to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. The proposal addresses the social, economic and environmental issues related to all types of batteries.
