Info Day - Call for Digital Skills Academies

The Digital Skills and Jobs Platform is hosting an online Info Day dedicated to the DIGITAL Europe Programme - Call for Digital Skills Academies.

Promotional visual for the Digital Europe Programme's Info Day event on Digital Skills Academies. It features illustrated figures using digital devices, with text highlighting the focus areas: quantum, artificial intelligence, and virtual worlds. The event is scheduled for 16 May 2025, from 9:30 to 12:00 CEST. A megaphone icon suggests an announcement, and the hashtag #DigitalEUProgramme appears at the bottom. The background is purple with abstract shapes and technology-themed icons.

The Info Day, which will be held on 16 May 2025, will welcome representatives from the European Commission and the European Health and Digital Executive Agency to provide guidance on the Digital Skills Academies calls.

The European Commission has launched four new Digital Skills Academies to address critical talent shortages in key technological sectors. This initiative, part of the Digital Europe Programme, focuses on bolstering the EU’s technological sovereignty and innovation capacity by delivering specialised education and training in quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and virtual worlds.

The Academies will offer a variety of education and training opportunities, supported by the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform. They will also foster collaboration among academia, industry, and public institutions to ensure that Europe has the skilled workforce needed to thrive in the digital age.

The call to set up three new Digital Skills Academies – Quantum, Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Worlds – is now open on the EU Funding & Tenders Portal, with applications accepted from 15 April. Organisations interested in developing these key training initiatives are invited to apply for funding.

To support potential applicants, an Info Day will take place on 16 May. The session will offer a closer look at the call, along with practical guidance and a chance to ask questions about the application process.

Interested participants are kindly asked to register in advance.
