Photonics Annual Meeting

"Europe‘s age of light – How photonics will power growth and innovation" will be the theme of the next Photonics Public Private Partnership Annual Meeting. The event will focus on the way forward towards the new European Framework Programme Horizon Europe and will present the new European photonics roadmap. A keynote speech will be given by Nobel Laureate Professor Gérard Mourou.

Calling for a wide partecipation to shape the future of photonics in Europe

A high-level symposium and networking reception on 27th March 2019 will take place in the Royal Museum of Fine Arts.

During the evening Professor Gérard Mourou, Nobel Prize Winner in 2018 in Physics will give a keynote speech.

His presence underlines the importance of Photonics in today's science landascape. This was also stressed in the open letter that 3 Nobel Laureates published a few weeks ago.

Professor Gérard Albert Mourou, Professor Stefan W. Hell and Professor Theodor W. Hänsch pointed out that the photonics sector has gained a world-leading position, as a direct result of the investment and key enabling technology status given to it through Horizon 2020.

The second event day will focus on the Photonics21 workshop sessions and the several thematic areas.
