Theory Meets Practice: Harnessing AI for practical implementations in digital archiving

Join us to discuss information exchange within and beyond the digital archiving community.

Historical Archives of the Hungarian State Security Services

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now an integral part of our daily lives, with new solutions and innovations being announced almost daily. The key question is no longer if archives should embrace AI, but rather how AI experts, IT specialists, and archivists can collaborate to unlock its full potential in digital archiving. This event will explore the intersection of AI theory and its practical application in archival work. Alongside theoretical insights from mathematicians and linguists, participants will also gain a deeper understanding through real-world case studies showcasing the latest AI-driven technologies in action.

The face-to-face conference will be held at the Eötvös 10 Cultural Centre, Eötvös u. 10, 1067 Budapest. It is jointly organised by the Historical Archives of the Hungarian State Security Services in Budapest, the eArchiving Initiative, and the DLM Forum. The event is free of charge and is open to anyone interested in electronic archiving and digital preservation. At the end of the event the participants will have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the historical archives. If you wish to attend in person, please register using the yellow button on the right. The event will be preceded by the annual DLM Forum Conference on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 November 2024.
