These topics include:

Security features of 5G networks, trends and issues for emerging mobile technologies and deployments, focus on the role of infrastructure companies, Cloud IPCEI and Edge cloud deployment, insights from DESIRA and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) study on digital transition for rural areas, indoor coverage, spectrum options and the Gigabit Infrastructure Act, how to address the last 1% of white areas and what to expect from 6G.

Registration for these sessions is open to all members of the European Broadband Competence Offices (BCOs) Network. The season 12 overview agenda is outlined below; a detailed agenda will be made available to participants directly. Unless otherwise indicated, all sessions will be held as online workshops.

Background

These sessions are organised by the BCO Network Support Facility in partnership with the Directorates-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (CNECT); Regional and Urban Policy (REGIO); Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI); and Competition (COMP). The sessions are part of a capacity-building knowledge-exchange programme aiming to connect and strengthen the BCO Network, support broadband roll-out in urban, rural and remote regions, and contribute to achieving the EU’s digital connectivity objectives.
