The fifth 5G Observatory Stakeholder Workshop provided a comprehensive platform for industry experts and stakeholders to explore 5G deployment and monitoring strategies within the scope of the Digital Decade programme. It was attended by 139 participants, including 17 moderators, presenters and panellists.

Noteworthy advancements in basic 5G were recognised, including an impressive 81% population coverage overall in the EU.

Approximately 88% of the 5G pioneer spectrum is now assigned in the EU. However, the 26 GHz ecosystem is still largely untapped, resulting from the relatively lower demand existing at the moment. Market trends and developing technologies such as 5G corridors, private networks, and open RAN were identified as crucial areas for the future, as highlighted in the responses to the recent Commission consultation on future connectivity.
