The areas of activity for multi-country projects remained stable in this period. This allowed EU countries and the European Commission to advance on many large-scale projects developing the EU’s technological capacities in these sectors.

Main developments

Incorporation at national level and launch of the 3 EDICs established in 2024 - the Alliance for Language Technologies EDIC, the Local Digital Twins towards the CitiVERSE EDIC, and the EUROPEUM-EDIC – followed by the launch of first projects.

Further EDICs in preparation, and more initiatives are under consideration for becoming EDICs.

The IPCEI on Microelectronics and Communication Technologies (IPCEI-ME/CT) and the IPCEI on Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services (IPCEI-CIS) became fully operational.

The Chips JU and the EuroHPC JU were progressing to deliver on their expanded objectives.
