Event Report: Coordination and Support action (CSA) to apply a cross-sector perspective to sectorial Testing and Experimentation Facilities

An info session on the Coordination and Support action (CSA) to apply a cross-sector perspective to sectorial Testing and Experimentation Facilities was held on 17 May.

To make the EU the place where AI excellence thrives from the lab to the market, the European Union is setting up world-class Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs) for AI.

The DG CONNECT unit for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Excellence held an info session on 17th of May of 2023.

The info session discussed a Coordination and Support action (CSA), driven by the TEFs needs, to support the sectorial TEFs to develop complementary cross-TEF activities in providing AI services from a cross-sector perspective and to maximise the overall impact of TEFs, and help the sectorial TEFs to better link with relevant EU projects, initiatives and stakeholders in the AI ecosystem of excellence.

This additional action, launched once the sectorial TEFs funded under the 2021 call are established is considered necessary to synchronise the TEFs with other actions launched in DIGITAL (in particular data spaces, the AI-on-demand platform, the edge AI TEF, relevant cloud and HPC initiatives) and develop a strong ecosystem around the TEFs enabling a faster and growing adoption of AI technologies in the European market.
